We'll start with a friendly conversation about your smile goals, dental history, and any concerns or questions you've been carrying around. This is your time.
A thorough examination
Dr. Fung will perform a full orthodontic assessment — including a review of your teeth, bite, and jaw alignment — using our high-tech iTero digital scanner. No goopy impressions.
Your treatment options
We'll walk you through every option available to you — braces, Invisalign, or other treatments — and explain the pros and cons of each for your specific case.
Honest answers on cost
We'll give you a realistic cost estimate and explain all available payment options — insurance, HSA/FSA, and our interest-free payment plans. No surprises.

About the consultation
Do I need to bring anything to my first appointment?
If you have dental insurance, bring your insurance card (front and back) — we'll review your orthodontic benefits with you. If you have prior X-rays or orthodontic records, bring those too. Otherwise, just bring yourself and your questions. You can also download and complete our patient intake forms in advance from our Getting Started page to save time on arrival.
Will I need to commit to treatment at my first visit?
Your consultation is purely informational — a chance for us to meet you, for you to meet us, and to lay out everything clearly so you can make the right decision for yourself. Many patients choose to go home, think it over, and come back when they're ready.
Can I bring a family member or support person?
Of course — we encourage it. For children and teens in particular, we love having parents in the room so everyone hears the same information. For adult patients, bringing a partner or family member is completely welcome. The more people involved in the conversation, the better the decisions you'll make together.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
We do our best to offer appointments within a week or two. The easiest way to see current availability is to book directly through our online scheduler. If you need something sooner, call us and we'll find something that works.
Is the consultation available for children and teens too?
Yes — consultations are available for patients of all ages. We recommend children have their first orthodontic check-up at age 7, or at the first sign of a potential issue. Early visits are a great way to stay ahead of any developing concerns before they become more complex. Adults are equally welcome — it's never too late to start.
