Step One
Initial Consultation
Your Invisalign journey starts with a relaxed, no-obligation consultation with Dr. Shauna Fung. This is where we get to know you — your smile goals, your lifestyle, and any concerns you might have. We'll assess your teeth and bite to determine whether Invisalign is the right fit, and walk you through exactly what treatment could look like for you. No pressure, no jargon — just honest, expert guidance.
Step Two
Digital Scan & Smile Preview
Say goodbye to goopy impressions. Using our iTero digital scanner, we capture a precise 3D model of your teeth in just a few minutes — completely comfortable and non-invasive. But here's the exciting part: we can use that scan to show you a virtual preview of your finished smile before treatment even begins. You'll see exactly where your teeth are headed before a single aligner is made.
Step Three
Your Custom Aligner Plan
Using your digital scan and Dr. Fung's clinical expertise, we design a fully personalised series of clear aligners — each one precisely calibrated to move your teeth a little further toward their ideal position. Your treatment plan maps out every stage of movement from start to finish, so you always know what's happening and why. Once the plan is finalised and approved, your custom aligners are manufactured and sent to our New Hyde Park office.
Step Four
Aligner Delivery Day
When your aligners arrive, you'll come in for your fitting appointment — this is when treatment officially begins! We'll show you how to insert and remove your trays, walk you through your wear schedule (20–22 hours per day, removing only to eat and brush), and answer every question about life with Invisalign. In some cases, we may place small tooth-coloured attachments on certain teeth to help the aligners grip and move them more precisely. You'll switch to a new set of aligners every one to two weeks as your teeth gradually shift.
Step Five
Progress Check Visits
Throughout your treatment, you'll visit us every 6–10 weeks to make sure everything is tracking beautifully. These appointments are typically quick and smooth — we'll review your progress, issue your next sets of aligners, and address any questions you have. One of the advantages of Invisalign is that these visits tend to involve fewer unexpected issues than braces check-ups, meaning your appointments stay predictable and stress-free. You'll also have direct access to our team between visits if anything comes up.
Step Six
Refinements, Retention & Your New Smile
As you approach the end of your planned series of aligners, we'll assess your results and determine whether any refinement aligners are needed to fine-tune the finish. This is completely normal and part of the process — we won't stop until the result is exactly right. Once treatment is complete, we'll fit you for custom retainers to preserve every millimetre of that movement. Retainers are typically worn full-time initially, then nightly long-term — keeping your smile locked in place for life.
